The mission and vision of the MEDERI Living Lab are linked to the mission and vision of the Instituto ai2, to which it belongs, and are defined in the strategic plan 2013-2016 as follows:

• Mission: “The Instituto ai2 of the UPV will direct its activities towards the creation and dissemination (transfer and teaching) of knowledge, so that society can make effective and efficient use of its results, providing support for the research activity of its members, helping to create synergies between the researchers and seeking opportunities for collaboration with companies and institutions.”
• Vision: “The Instituto ai2 of the UPV will direct its activities towards: (1) Creating and disseminating (transfer and teaching) knowledge; (2) Supporting the research work of its members and promoting their synergies; (3) Encouraging collaboration with companies and institutions so that society can make effective and efficient use of its results.”

Mission and vision of the MEDERI Living Lab are therefore defined as follows:

• Mission: “The mission of the MEDERI Living Lab of the Instituto ai2-UPV is to promote the research, development and innovation in health industry through the creation of a multi-sectoral and multidisciplinary environment of co-creation focused on citizens and favouring the transference and social return of the work of their researchers, as well as synergies with companies and healthcare institutions.”
• Vision: “The MEDERI Living Lab of the Instituto ai2-UPV will be an excellence research, development and innovation centre in technologies applied to health, providing a multidisciplinary co-creation approach in order to meet the needs of the citizens, who will take part in technological development to improve their health, wellbeing and training.”
